Neil is originally from Hawaii and has been in metro Detroit and the beauty industry for over twenty years. Throughout his many years in the industry, he has traveled the country and the globe to obtain advanced education. Neil is a Wella master color expert and specializes in many services.
He also specializes in keratin and hair texture treatments as well as men’s cuts, women’s cuts, corrective color and corrective cutting. In his free time, Neil enjoys spending quality time with his partner, friends, and family. He also enjoys cooking, traveling, and exciting adventures.
Dawn has been in the industry for 30+ years. As someone that is into health and wellness, she knows that healthy, youthful hair is a key to looking and feeling beautiful.
Her specialty is making fine and aged hair look thicker and luxurious. Dawn loves adding highlights and lowlights to add dimension and texture, and can make “problem hair” look spectacular.
She also has a large clientele of men and loves updating men’s hairstyles and creating that strong and new look.
Jessica graduated from Elevate Salon Institute in Royal Oak in 2022 and is currently an assistant with Neil working her way into her own chair and building her own clientele. Jessica loves color and wants to specialize in textured hair. She enjoys learning new and improved techniques and discovering products that give the best end results for her clients. When Jessica is not doing hair, she loves to lay back and watch anime, play smash bros, and spending time with her closest friends and family.
Sarah brings 27 years of extensive experience in the beauty industry to the Nalu team. Her journey began as a makeup artist, working with prestigious brands such as MAC, Aveda, Dior, and Chanel.
Sarah then transitioned to Nordstrom, where she excelled as their beauty ambassador, representing and promoting the finest products.
Prior to joining Nalu as our dedicated general manager, she spent 7 successful years managing Ulta stores, honing her leadership abilities and fostering a commitment to client satisfaction.
Her journey in the beauty industry started when she was in high school and has expanded greatly over the last 18 years. Continuing her education with many advanced hands-on classes alongside completing her Bachelor’s in Business and
Administration degree from U of M-Flint, Stephanie has dedicated her career to truly learning the beauty industry inside and out.
Specializing in grey blending, blonding, dry haircutting and treatments, she will transform your hair dreams into a reality.

When Stephanie is not behind the chair, she enjoys any adventure. Michigan girl through and through.
She has two rescue pups, loves live music of all kinds, lake days in the summer, slope days in the winter, spending time at her property up north, family, friends and traveling anywhere else in the world too.
Her down time consists of binge-watching anything crime/mystery related, bonfires, yoga and swinging in her hammock.
At the end of the day, Stephanie truly feels herself being behind the chair. Connecting with her clients and showing them how to enhance their natural beauty and fall in love with who they truly are is her ultimate goal.
Billie Tobin has joined our salon, bringing over 35 years of experience as a subtle energy worker. Specializing in holistic healing, she focuses on balancing the body’s energy field to enhance physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. With a background in nursing and personal training, Billie was the former owner of Inner Wisdom Health and Wellness Center.
She is thrilled to be at Nalu and feels it is the ideal match as they both prioritize enhancing one’s appearance and well-being. Nalu offers services to enhance the physical appearance of hair, while subtle energy work enhances the body’s energy flow and overall well-being. Both strive to help individuals look and feel their best.

Sally was born and raised in Romeo, MI. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rochester College with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and has been working in customer service for over 20 years! Making people smile is always on the top of her list of priorities!
In her free time, Sally loves to crochet (while watching really bad reality tv or cooking competition shows), and loves to spend time her family, friends and her beloved dogs!

Behind the scenes, Jess makes sure everything runs smoothly. Jess has played an important role in the salon industry since 2009. Since her start, she has been an Assistant, Lead Receptionist and Assistant Manager. Her experience and exposure to training under some of the most talented and creative stylists – in the metro Detroit area and abroad – has exposed her to many advanced beauty trends and techniques.
Utilizing all her knowledge and experience, Jess dedicates herself to her career and pleasing clients.
Jess brings a happy, hardworking energy to all that she does and loves!
Although Kevin may be new to Nalu Salon, he is no stranger to the hair industry. With his extensive experience as a part-owner and operator of a family salon in Shelby Township, Kevin has developed a strong foundation in the industry.
As a member of IATSE 798, the Union of Hair and Makeup Artists for Film and Television, Kevin has worked on numerous high-profile productions.
Following a 10-year stint in Atlanta, Kevin has returned to Michigan, while in Atlanta he worked on notable shows such as “The Vampire Diaries” as Key Hairstylist, “The Resident” and “Cobra Kai” as Hair Department Head. His work has also been featured on “Stranger Things” and the reboot of “Dynasty”.
